These birds aren't limited to Colorado and therefore tend to be more familiar.

The American Robin is often associated with the arrival of spring. It is a migratory songbird of the thrush family.

Red-winged Blackbirds can often be found in dense stands of rushes or cattails. Only the males have the deep black color with red shoulders.

The Common (or Northern) Raven is a large member in the crow family.These highly intelligent birds typically live 10 to 15 years in the wild, although lifespans of up to 40 years have been recorded.

They are capable of making a wide range of calls.
