MUSKRATS

The Muskrat (nicknamed Swamp Bunny in some areas) is basically a large aquatic vole.

Muskrats have narrow flattened tails.

They live in freshwater environments such as ponds and rivers, and feed primarily on cattails.

By constructing canals and floating houses of vegetation, muskrats create habitats for many waterfowl and plants that couldn't otherwise live in dense stands of cattails.
