The Continental Divide runs along the crest of the Rockies, from Canada down to Central America. Basically it divides the continent's water drainage into two parts: any water that lands west of the divide flows into the Pacific Ocean, and any water landing on the east side of the divide eventually finds itself in the Atlantic.
